Ex-Staff and Governors

 

The Friends of Kent College is an Association for many groups, including members of staff, ex- staff members and ex-Governors.  
As well as keeping you up to date with school news, the network can offer you lots of ways to support the Kent College community. Whether you are still in the area or have moved far away, we’d love to hear from you. As a Friend you will be invited to attend various events throughout the school academic year, and these offer excellent networking opportunities. 

Events at Kent College

Kent College holds various events throughout the year for you to attend, sponsor or advertise in the accompanying literature.  An example of these is show below:

Kent College Bi-Annual Careers Convention

In June 2014 the Careers Department held a hugely successful careers evening for senior school students and their families.  Over 350 families attended to gain advice and knowledge from over 65 local and national businesses, universities and higher education institutions.

This is a free event for our Friends to attend and we welcome all types of professions.  If you are interested in being involved in this event for 2016, please contact Head of Careers Gill Shukla at shuklag@kentcollege.kent.sch.uk

West Kent Chamber of Commerce Business Exchange Evenings

Kent College hosts an annual Business Exchange Evening event as a member of the West Kent Chamber of Commerce.  These are evenings hosted by the Chamber and are an excellent way to meet and build relationships with local businesses from the Kent area.  Friends of Kent College are invited to attend these events, even if they are not members of the Chamber of Commerce. The Kent College Festivals

These bi-annual arts and film events are open to the Kent College community and advertised to members of the public.  Our next event will take place later in the year, stay tuned for more information and invitations.


School Production

Kent College has an enviable reputation for the ambition and professional quality of its dramatic and musical productions.  Over the years the talented Drama and Music Departments have directed pupils with On the Razzle, Little Shop of Horrors, Macbeth, Women of Troy, Mozart's Requiem, Chess, Romeo and Juliet and the recent opera Carmen which received high acclaim; "Kent College's Carmen is as good as anything at Glyndebourne". Join as a member of the Friends and you will be invited to drinks receptions prior to the performances, a fantastic evening out networking aswell as seeing a top show.  If you would like to advertise a production programme please email friends@kentcollege.kent.sch.uk for more information. 

ISGA (Independent Schools Gymnastics Association) 

For the last three years Kent College has hosted the national GISGA tournament which invites 16 top Gymnast teams across the UK and Europe to compete in this highly regarded competition.  Between 200 - 400 visitors attend over the weekend, with various merchandise on offer. National Young Fashion Designer Awards

The finals and Awards ceremony of the annual Young Fashion Designer UK Competition are hosted every summer at Kent College and publicised across the UK in order to celebrate talented textiles and fashion students across the country.  This event gains increasing popularity every year and attracts a selection of school staff and pupils, as well as an extensive judging team of Textiles and Design Industry professionals.
